STS SA, the Polish offshoot of STS Holdings, had an exceptional start to the year. Their net gaming revenue (NGR) soared by 12% compared to the previous year, reaching 175 million Polish zloty.
STS Strengthens Polish Approach
The total amount wagered also climbed to 1.19 billion Polish zloty in the initial three months of the year, a 16% increase compared to the same period last year.
The organization reported a gross gaming revenue (GGR) of 305 million Polish zloty, a 9% increase from the first quarter of 2022. GGR is the amount wagered minus winnings, while NGR is further reduced by bonuses and taxes.
The organization also announced 57,000 new registered users in the first quarter, up from 56,000 last year. Of those, 37,000 players made their first deposit, compared to 35,000 in 2022. However, the company’s active user base actually declined by 2.4%, from 339,000 to 331,000.
STS Reinforces Polish Strategy
“We’re very satisfied with our operational outcomes in the first quarter of 2023. We’ve observed significant growth in key aspects of our operations,” said Mateusz Juroszek, Chairman of the Management Board of STS Holding.
STSs clientele remains robust and eager to invest. Moreover, the substantial number of patrons acquired during the global football tournament are highly engaged. We anticipate continuing to effectively activate our extensive customer base, which is still expanding, in the upcoming months.
In the initial month of the year, STS unveiled plans to realign its business strategy, concentrating on its primary market, Poland. Juroszek affirmed that the plan is progressing steadily.
“In the year 2023, the organization intends to implement a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing operational profitability,” he stated. “To achieve this goal, the company has restructured its operations, focusing on Poland and discontinuing operations in the United Kingdom and Estonia.”
STS Group Operations
However, the STS Group’s activities – encompassing the United Kingdom and Estonia – performed less favorably than the Poland-exclusive business across various financial and non-financial metrics.
Total wagers increased by 11.5%, from PLN 1.08 billion to PLN 1.2 billion. The company reported NGR of PLN 176 million, an 11% rise compared to 12% for the Poland-only strategy declared. GGR also increased from PLN 282 million to PLN 306 million, a growth of 9%.
The number of registered users, encompassing Estonia, the United Kingdom, and Poland operations, was 57,000, compared to 64,000 in the initial quarter of 2022 – a reduction of 11%. The number of first-time depositors and active users also declined by 7% and 5%, respectively.
